Guardian Ad Litem Appointments
Our attorneys accept appointments as guardians ad litem for divorce and paternity matters in Dane County. They are appointed by the Court, at the request of the parties or by the court official hearing the case. Guardians ad litem conduct independent investigations to provide courts and parties with recommendations regarding the best interests of children at issue. Often, a guardian ad litem will work with Family Court Services during a custody and placement study. While a guardian ad litem starts as a neutral party, eventually they take a position and advocate for the best interests of the child.
